어제 잠을 잘못 잤는지 어깨에 통증이 느껴진다.
아까는 내가 말을 잘못했어.

My shoulder aches. I think I slept in the wrong position last night. 
I misspoke earlier.

 

 

* wrong : adj. 잘못

 

아래의 문장은 한국어로는 잘못된 버튼이라고 해석하기 쉽지만, 영어로는 버튼을 잘못이라고 해석해야 한다. 

모든 예문에서 the wrong 으로 표현을 하고 있다. 정관사 the 는 올바른 것은 하나이고, 그 이외의 것은 모두 잘못된 것이라고 생각하면 된다. 

 

My shoulder aches. I think I slept in the wrong position last night. 
어제 잠을 잘못 잤는지 어깨에 통증이 느껴진다.
* ache : 아프다, 쑤시다

 

Sorry, I must have dialled the wrong number.
미안해요, 제가 전화를 잘못 건 것 같군요.

실수로 전철을 잘못 탔거든.

* information : 정보 > 정보는 주고 받는 것이기 때문에 give 를 이용

그들은 나한테 올바른 정보를 주지 않았다. 
* correct : 옳은, 정확한?

I bought the wrong size.
사이즈를 잘못 샀어.

I bought the wrong color.
색상을 잘못 샀어.
*(영)잘못된 사이즈를 샀어 <-> (한)사이즈를 잘못 샀어

I gave them the right/correct address, but they went to the wrong address.
나는 올바른 주소를 그들에게 주었는데 그들은 잘못된 주소로 가버렸어.

He took the wrong bus.
그는 버스를 잘못 탔다.

I got the wrong change.
잔돈을 잘못 거슬러 받았어요.

The dentist pulled out the wrong tooth?. 
치과 의사는 엉뚱한 이를 뽑았다.

I think you charged the wrong amount.
계산이 틀린 것 같습니다.

* misspoke : vi. 말을 잘못하다

Actually, I guess I misspoke. It's not astonishing, more like inevitable.
실은 내가 잘못 말한 것 같네. 그건 놀라운게 아니라 당연한거야
* misspeak : 잘못 말하다, 잘못 발음하다, 부정확하게[부적당하게] 말하다
* astonish : 놀라운
* inevittable : 불가피한, 필연적인

I got the facts confused and I misspoke. 
사실관계를 헷갈리는 바람에 말실수를 했다.

I misspoke during the interview, and now I'm worried about the impression I made.
면접 중에 말실수를 했는데, 이제 내가 남긴 인상에 대해 걱정이다.
